Everton midfielder Dele Alli is enduring the worst possible time on loan at Besiktas. The Englishman’s career has been on a downward trajectory and he has not been successful in reversing the tide. To add to his worries, his future looks bleak at Everton too.

Alli arrived from Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer in the January transfer window of 2022 in order to resurrect his faltering career. He did arrive on a Bosman deal but Everton and Spurs had agreed a payment system based on performances and objectives achieved.

The Toffees will be liable to pay £10 million after Alli plays 20 games for Everton. The 26 year old has made 13 appearances for the Merseysiders before leaving on loan in the summer. Alli did not feature regularly in Frank Lampard’s plans and was loaned out to find his footing.

Could Everton sell Dele Alli in the summer?

At Besiktas, it has gone from bad to worse for the former Spurs man as Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has banished Alli to the stands. The Turkish manager no longer counts on Alli and would not be calling him up in the match day squads until the rest of the season. He has not fulfilled the expectations at Besiktas. Since his contract cannot be terminated, he will stay until the end of the season but he will watch the games from the stands.

Once the season ends, Alli would return to Goodison Park where Sean Dyche could possibly evaluate Alli and take an informed decision about his future. However, Alli doesn’t seem to be a player that will fit into Dyche’s system and will be able to adhere to the manager’s rigours demands.

The 51 year old expects his midfielders to be hard working and maintain a high work ethic throughout the 90 minutes, running and keeping up the intensity. Alli doesn’t strike like such a player though his attacking quality in the final third could add a new dimension to the attack.

The Toffees could look into offloading the Englishman in the summer in order to avoid paying any amount to Spurs once certain objectives are met. Despite having a horrendous spell in Turkey, Alli has managed to attract admirers from Italy.

According to Calciomercato, Serie A giants Inter Milan and AC Milan are eyeing a move for the English attacking midfielder. In many ways, the two Champions League playing sides would hand a lifeline to Everton’s deserted man who seems to be on a rapid decline.

Milan and Inter are considering Alli as his price wouldn’t be too high. There are other teams in Italy who would be interested in Alli because of the low price point but at the moment nothing concrete has emerged between Alli and any interested sides.
