Everton will be definitely looking to add a striker to their ranks in the summer and have already started working on a shortlist. Names like Viktor Gyokeres have already been linked plenty of times. Now, Inter Milan striker Joaquin Correa is being looked at by Everton.

The Toffees have been deprived of a focal point in the attack as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues his rehabilation from injury. The Englishman has missed more than 50% of games because of injury and that has severly hurt Everton in the attack.

The Toffees are the lowest goalscorers in the Premier League, scoring only 23 goals in 30 games. The need for a striker is imperative but Everton’s summer transfer business hinges on whether they can keep their Premier League status for next season.

Everton carry out surveys for Joaquin Correa

Nonetheless, Everton are looking at forwards in the market. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Everton to get an opportunity to sign Inter Milan forward Correa in the summer. The Toffees tried to sign him in the summer of 2021 when he left Lazio but the Argentine ended up joining Inter. The forward has struggled for game time as he has played just 567 minutes of Serie A football.

In 30 games this term, Correa has netted three goals and provided three assists. With Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku ahead of him in the pecking order, Correa’s role has reduced to being an off the bench player in most of the games.

A summer transfer is expected for Correa as the Argentine searches for a club that can offer him regular and unrestricted minutes. As per the report, Correa could have a future in the English Premier League where Everton are in contention to sign him. The Merseysiders have already carried out some surveys for Correa.

The 28 year old is valued at £12.3 million by Transfermarkt but should command a higher fee as his contract runs till 2025. Although Calvert-Lewin will return to the team, Neal Maupay’s future remains uncertain.

Of course, none of this matters if Everton fail to survive in their relegation scrap. If EFC drop to the Championship, convincing Correa or any player to sign for the Merseysiders will be a difficult task.
