Mason Holgate could be joining Conor Coady and Yerry Mina as the latest central defender to leave Everton in this summer transfer window.

Reports out today are claiming the former youth team product has now been offered to Turkish team Besiktas on loan.

If true, it could mean Holgate would become the third centre-half Everton have released or allowed to move on in this transfer window.

Although the Blues haven’t signed anyone new (except for veteran free-agent Ashley Young) they have actually been very active in the transfer window, at least in terms of letting existing players go at any rate.

As well as Coady and Mina, left-back Nils Nkounkou, midfielder Tom Davies and striker Ellis Simms have left the club along with several promising youth products such as Issac Price and Ishe Samuels-Smith.

There is also continuing speculation about the future of Demarai Gray and now Alex Iwobi is also apparently on another Premier League club’s radar.

Holgate moving on won’t upset too many Evertonians I suspect as he had a torrid time last season playing in several different positions and also getting sent off too.

After some promising early spells when he first broke into the Toffees team a few years ago, Holgate’s form has declined considerably and seemed to get worse in the last campaign.

He was played out of position being used as an emergency left-back a role that cleary didn’t suit him at all.

At any rate Holgate’s career at Goodison Park seems to have hit a road block and like fellow former youth team graduate Davies, his football future, if he has one, looks like it is at another club.

Blues supporters will be concerned that Everton don’t have another transfer window like the last on in January when the club failed to bring in any additional faces to help new manager Sean Dyche strengthen for the upcoming relegation battle.

Dyche has it is claimed byone national newspaper, said he wants a minimum of four new signings before this window shuts so let’s hope the club can find the money to conclude that business for him.
