Everton have announced the signing of Arnaut Danjuma on a loan deal from Villarreal. EFC’s transfer activity will not stop as the Toffees continue to look to strengthen their attack. Everton were keen to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr but EFC’s chase seems to have come to a premature end.

Danjuma is acapable of playing as a centre forward but he is the most potent on the left flank. Everton’s wing department consists of Demarai Gray, Dwight McNeil, Alex Iwobi and Danjuma. McNeil, Danjuma and Gray are more comfortable on the left flank whereas Iwobi is the only attacker playing on the right.

The Nigerian is a hardworking player and does manage to get the job done on the right flank but he personally prefers to play centrally where he can drive the ball forward and create chances. If a potent right winger is signed, Iwobi would have been released for Dyche to use him centrally.

Everton had shown interest in Ismaila Sarr

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Watford winger Sarr has attracted interest from Olympique Marseille and Everton. However, the Ligue 1 club were ahead in the race as they had already sent an offer to the Senegalese attacker and the player was keen on the move.

Everton’s interest in Sarr is not new. The Toffees were even linked with Sarr in the January transfer window. It seems EFC will not be able to get their man. According to Fabrizio Romano, Sarr to Marseille is finalized. Watford and Marseille have reached verbal agreement after contacts were established yesterday.

The 25 year old had no hesitation in accepting Marseille as contract has been agreed till 2028. Final green light is awaited and then medicals will take place. The Ligue 1 club has moved quickly to get their man as contacts with Watford were established just yesterday.

Sarr is an electric player who would have improved Everton’s quality on the right flank. He is also able to play on the left flank as well as centre forward. His versatility could have come in handy for the Merseysiders but Marseille have won the race. However, this does hint that the Toffees are determined to bring another winger to the team. Wilfried Gnonto is another player that EFC want and they have recently received a boost in their chase as the Italian has shown willingness to move to Goodison Park.
