Danny Ings is once again being linked with a possible move to Goodison Park as Everton continue their relentless search for proven goalscorers.

The West Ham striker was an alledged target of the Toffees earlier this year in the January transfer window before he made the move to the London Stadium.

Stories circulating are constantly linking Everton to one forward or another, with the latest rumours claiming Udinese striker Beto is on Merseyside having a medical.

Whether Beto will put pen to paper on a contract and become a Blues player is still very much an uncertain matter.

If the Portuguese star does join Everton it will at least represent a significant and a decisive move, which will hopefully bring a much-needed improvement in goal threat up front.

But more players are needed and the Toffees are still said to be trying to get a player from Ings’ former club Southampton, centre-forward Che Adams, to potentially join Beto at Goodison.

And Ings himself is once again the latest name to be resurrected wtih these new reports claiming he would be keen on being reunited with his former manager Sean Dyche.

The ex-England international is certainly a goalscorer and in his best season he netted an impressive twenty-two times in the Premier League for the Saints.

That was a few seasons back though and no one would expect him to match those sorts of figures, especially given Everton’s lack of attacking creativity.

However, I am sure he would have at least a couple of goals if he was presented with the sorts of chances the Blues players have so regularly missed so far this season.

To be honest I would pretty much take any striker willing to come at the moment, and my attitude is the more the merrier as this team can’t have enough proven and experienced goalscorers, given the paucity of options currently available.
