David Moyes should give his young wingers major minutes against Bournemouth

Newly signed loanee Tyrique George should make his home debut, and Tyler Dibling should factor in as well.

Everton have now signed several young players during the two transfer windows of the 2025/26 campaign, with a pair of teenagers (at least at time of signing) standing out in the form of Tyler Dibling and Tyrique George.

Dibling has had a tough time integrating into David Moyes' side, and the Everton manager recently spoke about the young wingers' time on Merseyside thus far. Moyes stated that Dibling is "a quiet boy who might take more time to settle in" but that "he needs to show when he gets the opportunities."

The Scottish manager continued that Dibling has shown "little glimpses of just beginning to get angry," something Moyes says he's "enjoying." In short, Dibling needs to be aggressive when the chances come.

More recent appearances suggest that the England U21 international is starting to get the message, but it will be interesting to see how the presence of his international teammate impacts that move for Dibling.

George made his Everton debut with a 20+ minute substitute appearance in Saturday's 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. He played exclusively on the left side of the attack, managing a shot that was off target, and playing a role in the Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalizer.

The newly minted 20-year-old looked comfortable on the ball, and seemed to make a difference in the side once he came on. It seems unlikely that his presence and Everton scoring twice after his entry was a total coincidence.

Moyes may need to figure out how to get the two youngsters on the pitch together, along with Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, especially in situations where Everton can afford to be on the front foot. Tuesday's clash with Bournemouth may not be that time, since a strong defensive showing will be required.

But both need to see the pitch in one way or another, which may mean dropping Harrison Armstrong from playing on the wing, a position he is not particuarly well suited for, in favor of either George or Dibling opposite Ndiaye.

Dibling obviously keeps Ndiaye on his preferred left side, but there's a case to be made that the Senegal international and George could effectively work as a flexible duo, switching sides when they deem appropriate. Dibling may be capable here, too, but it isn't something he's shown as a professional.

If Moyes were willing to sacrifice a midfielder, he could use Ndiaye centrally behind Theirno Barry, with George and Dibling flanking them, and Dewsbury-Hall in a central midfield role in front of a single defensive midfielder, but that would mean one of either Idrissa Gana Gueye or James Garner is left out.

It isn't the solution for Tuesday, to be sure, but it is something to watch out for in other situations. For now, Moyes must give both of his young players a run of minutes against Bournemouth to set both up for success as the season progresses.
