Everton have announced several player departures following the conclusion of the season.
The club confirmed that Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrøm, Orel Mangala, and Armando Broja will return to their parent clubs once their loan spells expire at the end of next month.
However, there is positive news for Evertonians: the club is actively working to turn Charly Alcaraz’s loan from Flamengo into a permanent deal. The Argentine midfielder, who joined during the winter transfer window, played a key role in Everton’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle and impressed with a commanding performance.
The 22-year-old Argentine has displayed bursts of dynamism, technical skill, and versatility throughout positions within the midfield, bringing a much-needed combination of creativity and grit to an Everton side in search of balance and spark.
Sad news for Jack Harrison, who will return to Leeds United following their return to the Premier League, and after he made 73 appearances for the club in his two-season loan spell. He scored five goals, where his form failed to show a level of consistency to make the move permanent.
The other departing loanees struggled to make a lasting impact during their time at the club. Jesper Lindstrøm featured 29 times without truly finding his rhythm, while Armando Broja made 11 appearances, mostly as a substitute. Belgian international Orel Mangala managed 21 outings before an injury curtailed his involvement under David Moyes.
The manager confirmed their departures and praised their professionalism and dedication during their stint on Merseyside, wishing them weel in the future.
""We would like to thank all our loan players, who have contributed to the positive steps we made on the pitch. They all embraced what it means to play for this club, and their attitude and commitment throughout their time at Everton was first class.David Moyes
“We wish Jack, Jesper, Orel and Armando all the very best for the future.”"
The statement also addressed the situation regarding out-of-contract players, noting that further updates will be provided in due course, indicating that discussions are still ongoing with those whose deals expire next month.
The likes of Idrissa Gana Gueye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Michael Keane could also be among those departing this summer, as Everton prepare for a major squad overhaul ahead of a new era at their soon-to-be home in Bramley-Moore Dock.
