The links keep coming, this time centered on a player with an incredible nickname: Antonio Nusa is referred to as the "Norwegian Neymar" due to his style of play.
Currently playing at RB Leipzig, Nusa is reportedly the talk of many English clubs, with the player being eyed by Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and even Italian giants Napoli. Caught Offside notes that the German club values Nusa at €45 million.
To call Nusa a rising star would be a bit of an understatement. He just turned 20 in April, but already has professional experience going back to when he was 15 with Stabaek in his home country, where he featured 11 times as a teenager, scoring three goals.
He moved to Club Brugge in Germany in 2021, where he played four seasons, scoring 6 times and adding five assists, including a Champions League goal against Porto in 2022. Nusa joined RB Leipzig last summer for a reported €21 million.
Nusa has played on both wings for Leipzig this year, with some cameo appearances at center forward and occasionally slotting in as a wingback, where he contributed 18 goals (9 goals/9 assists) for the German side that finished 7th in the Bundesliga this past year.
Whether the young Norwegian is ready for the next step up to the Premier League, but he has the physical tools and obvious skills to make himself a player wherever he goes. But he's still young and wouldn't be likely to contribute massively right away, so whether it makes sense for Everton to get involve isn't clear.
The player would need convincing about the project, too, as a move to Merseyside would mean missing out on European football, something Leipzig gained this year, with a trip to the UEFA Conference League set for next year.
It is certainly exciting for Everton to have these types of players on the radar, but at this juncture, spending that much money on an up-and-coming player doesn't appear likely, at least not in this case.
