The first Merseyside derby of the Hill Dickinson era is happening on Saturday, with Everton traveling up the road a bit to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

Both Merseyside clubs are off to good starts to the season through four matches, with the Reds remaining unbeaten so far with a Premier League leading 12 points, while the Blues sit in 6th place so far on 7 points, and are unbeaten since their opening weekend defeat away to Leeds.

If Liverpool has shown a weakness so far this season, it's that they aren't incapable of giving goals away, with the Reds averaging a goal conceded per match thus far. Granted, that has actually come in the form of two goals per match in wins over Bournemouth (4-2) and Newcastle (3-2), but it's pretty clear that Liverpool's strategy is to lean on its own ability to outside opponents, even if they allow plenty of goals.

It's safe to say that Everton are closer to those two clubs in terms of attacking acumen than they are to Burnley, who lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Sunday, although Arsenal did also lose by the same scoreline a week before, and they're tied with Liverpool with nine goals scored so far this year.

So, while the likes of Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and even players like Charly Alcaraz and Tyler Dibling potentiallly come off the bench, will be vital to Everton potentially securing a result on Saturday, one player stands out as even more key: Beto.

It seems very likely that the Guinea-Bissau international will get David Moyes' starting nod against the Reds due to his physical profile against Liverpool's center back pairing. And so, with Everton expecting to see little of the ball, it will be imperative that the attacking trio above make something of the ball when they have it, but also that Beto does something with the chances they do create.

Everton need to be clinical with the opportunities they do have, and in order to do so, Beto must be on the top of his game.
