As is customary, the Premier League teams are joining the Carabao Cup this week, with many of the matchups featuring top-flight clubs taking on lower level sides.
Everton is among those clubs, as the Toffees will host Mansfield Town, a League One side, at Hill Dickinson Stadium on this evening, the second competitive match inside of a few days at the club's new home.
Both sides have gotten off to decent starts in their respective leagues, with Everton sitting in 8th in the Premier League after two matches, while Mansfield Town are in 9th in League One after five matches played.
But Everton is coming off a thrilling first-ever Premier League match at the new stadium, a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, with goals from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner leading the way.
And the Premier League side will have to show that it can both protect its home turf as well as fend off a lower level side that may have little to lose from giving the match a proper go.
With that in mind, here are a few notes about the matchup, as well as information on how to watch the contest.
Match Notes
Mansfield Town has never faced Everton as the away side, never having visited Goodison Park in the 133 years that Everton played there. They'll now serve as the second-ever competitive opponent at the Toffees' new ground.
In fact, the two sides appear to have never faced each other at all, at least not against Everton's senior side. The Stags played Everton's U21 side at Goodison in November of 2022, a 2-1 win for the young Toffees.
Both sides are coming off victories last weekend, and Mansfield has won four in a row after a slow start to its campaign, including its first Carabao Cup tie.
How to Watch
The match will kickoff at 7:45 PM local time at Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool. That start time is 2:45 PM ET/1:45 PM CT/11:45 AM PT in the United States.
In the UK, the match will be broadcast on Sky Sports+, while in the United States, Paramount Plus is the exclusive home for the competition this year. Both services require a subscription to watch.
