Everton will play their final preseason match of the season on Saturday, with AS Roma coming to Liverpool to serve as the Toffees' final warm-up before the season starts with a trip to Leeds United on August 18.

Roma is also owned by Everton's new ownership, The Friedkin Group, which made this matchup make complete sense, although it won't be the first time these two European giants have met in a preseason match.

The two sides faced off at Goodison Park on August 10, 2024, a 1-1 draw that saw the Italian side score first via Lorenzo Pellegrini, only for Everton to strike back early in the second half from a goal by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Roma is coming off a strong season in Serie A, finishing fifth and earning Europa League qualification, just a point of Juventus, who took Italy's fourth Champions League spot.

That should make this a very good opportunity for Everton to face strong competition, although, with Serie A starting a week after the Premier League, there is a chance that the Toffees may be further along in their preparations for the upcoming campaign.

In either case, Everton should take full advantage of the opportunity and play as strong a lineup as possible, and even consider bringing in new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall into the fold.

After the preseason friendly, which will also serve as the final test event for Hill Dickinson Stadium before its official first match on August 24, when Brighton comes to visit, there will be a legends game between the two clubs, with Peter Reid and Fabio Capello leading their respective clubs onto the pitch.

How to Watch

In the United States, the preseason match will be broadcast on ESPN+, which requires a subscription to view. The match will kickoff at 10 AM ET/9 AM CT/7 AM PT.

In Europe, the only way to watch the match is by purchasing a pass to watch the live stream on EvertonTV, which can be bought as a monthly or annual subscription or via a single "match pass" for that game.

The game kicks off at 3 PM local time and 4 PM for those watching from Italy.
