Everton, both as a football team and a club overall, have a lot of work ahead of them in the next few months leading up to the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Not only is there plenty to do in the transfer market to improve the squad and add depth, but the club will also spend a great deal of time making the move from Goodison Park to Hill Dickinson Stadium and all that will entail, both from a footballing and administrative perspective.
On top of that, the Toffees have a lot of travel in their summer plans, the most recent dates of which were announced earlier today.
The preseason will commence in mid-July, with the Toffees traveling north to take on Accrington Stanley FC, a club that finished last season in 21st place, just 8 points clear of the relegation zone in League Two. That fixture will take place on Tuesday, July 15, with kickoff scheduled for 7:45 PM BST.
Just a few days later, Everton will find themselves in the next town over as they face off against Blackburn Rovers FC. The Rovers just finished 7th in the Championship, missing the final playoff spot by two points behind Bristol City. That match will be on Saturday, July 19, starting at 3 PM BST.
And then it's the big event of the summer: Everton will be part of a group of four Premier League teams traveling throughout the United States for this year's edition of the Summer Series. Along with Everton, Bournemouth, West Ham, and Manchester United will be part of the tour.
All four sides will play one another throughout the series, with two matches taking place in each city along the route. They'll begin in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at MetLife Stadium, home of the NFL's New York Giants and Jets. Everton will take on Bournemouth on that stop on Saturday, July 26.
The quartet will then travel to Chicago and play matches at Soldier Field, home to the Chicago Bears and Chicago Fire FC. The Toffees will face off against West Ham United on Wednesday, July 30.
Finally, the series will end in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which houses the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, on Sunday, August 3. Everton will play Manchester United in the final match of the tour, before heading back to England.
With the Premier League season due to start the weekend of August 16, that will likely be the end of Everton's preseason fixture schedule, especially given all the travel that will be required of them this summer. The 2025/26 fixtures are set to be announced on June 18.
