Jack Harrison was one of the signings Everton made during their financial and sporting crisis back in 2023. He was considered a decent option on both wings with the potential of breaking out as he did back in 2020.
Although he had a seven goal contributions in his first season with the Toffees, he fell off a cliff afterwards, only scoring once since for both Everton and Leeds, his parent club.
Despite his struggles, many Everton fans see him as one of the players who contributed to the turnaround of the club when it seemed like everyone outside Everton wanted to tear them down.
When David Moyes took over the team last season, he praised Harrison for his work rate, but it was clear that he wasn’t delivering the goal contributions that Everton needed, and after the season, the Toffees decided to not bring him back into the squad.
Times are changing for the Englishman, however, as Serie A side Fiorentina have finalized a loan deal for Harrison. Fiorentina sit 18th in the table and are desperate to infuse talent into the squad. As much as Harrison has struggled to score goals and grab assists, he does provide some pace and flair in outside zones. Fiorentina will need to create chances for him because he isn’t much of a chance creator himself.
Unlike some players who have left in recent years, plenty of Toffees see Harrison in a positive light, and many will be hoping that he helps lead Fiorentina out of the relegation spots and become a bit of an underground legend.
