'Here We Go' - Fabrizio Romano confirms Everton midfield signing

Although Romano doesn't have the most reliable record when it comes to announcing Everton news, this link looks legit. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall looks like the next signing for the Toffees this summer.

Everton fans have been asking for signings, and it seems like the club has finally listened.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who won the 2025 Club World Cup with Chelsea, is on his way to Merseyside as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the move. The Englishman notched nine goal contributions in 36 matches in all competitions, including four in the UEFA Conference League, which Chelsea also won.

The Toffees have had a slow offseason when it comes to bringing star talents, but Dewsbury-Hall is the first player who is most likely an undisputed starter in Everton's starting 11. Everton will pay £25 million to acquire the player and could pay even more, including add-ons.

Dewsbury-Hall is a natural 8 who can also play the 10 position. As things stand, he'll slot next to Gana in the midfield double pivot. His fbref.com stats also jump off the page compared to other midfielders.

He has the ability to beat players by dribbling or by making forward runs. He's unafraid to enter the final and contribute offensively, and while sometimes that leaves his team defensively lacking, he adds enough versatility and positives to offset any negatives from his movements.

This move addresses Everton's need for another CM, and it seems like the club is already working on a right wing signing as they're attempting to bring winger Tyler Dibling from Southampton.

It's looking like Everton will spend over £100 million this transfer window, which showcases the Friedkin Group's commitment to making Everton into a Premier League contender again.
