Hill Dickinson Stadium is beginning to look like Everton's home

Initial fan response asked for more Everton branding, and it looks like it was the plan all along.

Everton are nearing the final weeks of preparation for the opening of Hill Dickinson Stadium, which will face its final test event in a friendly against Roma (followed by a match between legends for both clubs), before its official first competitive match against Brighton on Matchday 2.

With all that coming up, the club have secured the naming rights to the stadium and immediately began to don the top of the building with the company's name, which pushed many fans to clamor for more Everton branded materials around the ground.

Obviously, this has all been in the works for a long while now, but photos have started to come out of Everton doing just that.

The biggest update is the Everton crest, which is supposedly being added to each of the brick corner structures as you enter the stadium. On top of that, the stadium's official X account sent out a video of the tunnel covering where the players will run out for matchday.

The response to the crests has been generally positive, as this is what supporters wanted to see more of once Hill Dickinson was announced as the name of the stadium. Call it what you want, fans said, but make sure it's clear who plays there.

As for the tunnel, there has been a bit more consternation from supporters, with some going so far as to question why it is needed in the first place, while others are mostly bemoaning the look of the thing. Either way, getting angry about a tunnel (which will probably be moved in and out during matches) feels like peak "Everton that" behavior.

Still, it does look better now that the stadium is starting to look like it is the home of the Toffees rather than just a general corporate arena. And ultimately, what matters is that Everton win games there.
