Another young midfielder on Everton radar as Amir Richardson linked

The Blues have already signed 19-year-old midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa a few weeks ago.

Iroegbunam's arrival was a surprise to Everton supporters and while he might well make an impact next season, he is likely a player more for the future.

While Iroegbunam may have to wait a little while before he can regularly contribute to the Blues, the club might be a little short of options in the centre of the park.

That is because the Toffees might very well lose Amadou Onana this summer as other Premier League clubs certainly have an interest in the Belgian international.

Most particularly Arsenal were strongly linked recently with a move in this transfer window for the 22-year-old who joined Everton from Lille in 2022.

So far, he has stayed put and is not yet moving on to pastures new. However, that is almost certain to happen at some point in this window, possibly sooner now that Belgium have been knocked out of the Euros.

Well the Blues are now apparently tracking another young midfielder and might well be pondering a move for him.

Amir Richardson is a 22-year-old Morocco international playing for Reims in France's Ligue One.

He made a total of twenty-nine appearances for Reims as they finished ninth in the French top flight at the end of last season.

Richardson therefore might be a player who could come in and play much more quickly if not straight away alongside Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Garner and now Iroegbunam in the centre of midfield.

Other players have been linked with Everton most of all Wilfred Ndidi who may or may not be leaving Leicester City this summer.

Ndidi would probably be a better bet for the Blues given his huge Premier League experience over the last few years.
