Everton must round off a great week with win against Bees

In the last week, Sean Dyche's men have beaten first Nottingham Forest and then most memorably Liverpool on Wednesday night, both by the same 2-0 scoreline.

Those six points have all but secured the Toffees status in the top flight and means they will be playing Premier League football again next season, barring an unlikely disaster. That does though always seem a possibility with this club!

And of course there is still the chance that the appeal of that second points deduction could see one point or maybe both restored before the end of the season.

Regardless of all that, Dyche and his players know that a win tomorrow will pretty much seal the deal and allow everyone associated with Everton to breathe a huge sigh of relief.

As I have said before, gaining that hat-trick of home wins would be a perfect end to what has been one of the better weeks in the Blues recent history.

In a campaign of unprecedented trials and tribulations, securing Premier League status with three games of the season still to go, would be a very considerable achievement.

After the exertions of Wednesday night's derby win Dyche revealed there are a few injury doubts among his squad.

Along with Beto still recovering from that clash of heads in the Forest game, Vitalii Mykolenko is certainly out for Brentford and so Ashley Young will probably continue in his place at left-back after replacing the Ukrainian against Liverpool.

There are a few other knocks and tightness among others, although they don't seem too serious, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin - such a colossus against Liverpool - also having had a bout of illness that almost meant he missed the derby.

Assuming no one else picks up a major problem over the next 24 hours and there are no issues with fatigue, you would assume the manager will pick a similar eleven tomorrow.

Brentford are sitting one place above the Toffees and in a sense have really nothing left to play for as they are basically safe for another year.

Having said that they probably want the cushion of at least one more win so I would expect them to come and try to get all the points tomorrow.

The Bees chief danger men are probably Bryan Mbuemo and the now returned new England centre-forward Ivan Toney.

Victory tomorrow would also make it a double for the Blues over these opponents this season and that represents a little extra added incentive.

It was back in December that Everton last won at least three in a row as they notched up four consecutive Premier League triumphs finishing at Burnley on the 16th of that month.

That though was followed by a record thirteen straight win-less matches, which put the team's future in serious doubt again.

Well now one more win should do it and consign the threat of relegation to the past, again. Hopefully too, this really will be the last campaign when we all have to go through this purgatory!
