After a stunning start to the season at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Everton must immediately turn its attention to yet another home match, this time hosting Mansfield Town for the Toffees' first involvement in this season's Carabao Cup.

Mansfield began their League One campaign with two losses, but have since rattled off four victories in a row, including the first tie in this competition, a 2-0 away win over Chesterfield two weeks ago.

But it will be a tough ask for the lower side to come into Hill Dickinson and defeat Everton, although David Moyes will have to figure out how much he wants to push to stay alive in this competition. The likeliest outcome for this match will be that the Everton manager will give some minutes to some players who haven't seen much of the pitch so far.

The system is unlikely to change, but a debut or two could be in the offing during this match, as new boy Tyler Dibling appears to have been registered in time to at least make a cameo for the Toffees.

In what could be a rather difficult task, let's take a guess at who Moyes will run out for this EFL Cup match on Wednesday evening.

Everton Lineup vs Mansfield Town (4-3-2-1)

Goalkeeper & Defenders

Mark Travers (GK): This is what Travers was signed for, so expect him to get these early cup matches until the level of competition steps up.

Adam Aznou (LB): Finally, it should be time to give the teenager his Everton debut. The level should be such that his qualities can allow him to dominate proceedings.

James Tarkowski (CB): Normally, I'd be against having a starting player in this position for this type of match, but Tark has looked a little shaky so far this season, and could use another run to get the kinks worked out.

Jake O'Brien (CB): I won't be surprised if someone like Reese Welch gets the call up for this match, but JoB also needs reps at his preferred position eventually.

Seamus Coleman (RB): We haven't heard anything about his fitness, although we did see him against Roma in the friendly at Hill Dickinson. Maybe a good way to get him back up to fitness. You could also see Roman Dixon get a run here.

Midfielders

James Garner (CDM): Still not his best position and Garner has been working hard these first two weeks completely out of position at left back, but there just isn't much cover here and I doubt they run Idrissa Gana Gueye out there.

Harrison Armstrong (CM): He needs minutes and this is a perfect opportunity for the youngster to show what he can do. May still be a loan candidate for this year, but Wednesday he should get a full 90 if he's fit enough.

Charly Alcaraz (CAM): It's pretty clear he's a depth piece now, but he's also way better centrally, so this match can provide him a full match of minutes at this preferred position.

Forwards

Dwight McNeil (LW): His one-footedness is an issue on the right, but expect there to be some fluidity here, as there has been so far with players like Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish. Needs the minutes and can really boss the game to build confidence.

Isaac Heath (RW): I'll go a little out of left field here, only because there are just too few numbers on the squad. Looked good when called upon this summer, so a good cup showing would be good for him.

Youssef Chermiti (CF): Needs minutes, and while it's possible one of either Beto or Thierno Barry get a run here, Chermiti just hasn't played enough since he's arrived at Everton, which isn't good for his development.
