There's a real sense of "here we go again" with this starting XI prediction pieces for Everton this season, as outside of the cup matches and the odd game, like last week's trip to Manchester City, where Jack Grealish was ineligible to play, David Moyes has been pretty clear about who his preferred group is.
Still, the intrigue may be more in how Moyes chooses to attack Spurs' team, and whether it has to pay too close attention to Tottenham's attack given their form so far this season.
Moyes is generally pragmatic, and he'll want to keep Everton's unbeaten run at the new ground going, even if that means running the same group out week after week and expecting results to continue, even as tactics change.
So, even though we all know the unit by heart at this juncture, here's the predicted starting XI for Everton's match on Sunday afternoon against Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton Starting lineup vs Spurs (4-2-3-1)
Goalkeeper & Defenders
Jordan Pickford (GK): The newly extended goalie has been in great form of late, even showing out in losses like the one away to City last weekend.
Vitalii Mykolenko (LB): This probably isn't the type of match to make the change anyway, but the continued insistence on not using Adam Aznou at all is worrying. The Ukrainian is doing his job for the most part, but you'd like to see a more modern approach eventually.
James Tarkowski (CB): Better of late after a slow start, the club's vice captain will also be around for a few more seasons after his contract extension. How long he'll be a nailed-on starter remains to be seen.
Michael Keane (CB): Jarrad Branthwaite isn't coming back anytime soon, and there's no cover at right back, so Keane, who has been generally effective and error-free, continues to get the nod.
Jake O'Brien (RB): He was really exposed against City and their pace, and it isn't likely to get any easier for him this weekend with Wilson Odobert and Mo Kudus putting pressure on the Ireland international.
Midfielders
Idrissa Gana Gueye (CM): He's still the only real option Everton have at this position, so Gana's imminent trip to AFCON is going to be a real test for Moyes' ability to trust his younger players.
James Garner (CM): Continues to play well, although he was caught out a few times at the Etihad. Calls for him to play right back are falling on deaf ears (as they're coming mostly from fans).
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (CAM): Speaking of AFCON (no, KDH isn't going), it will be interesting to see if part of the plan there is to get both Dewsbury-Hall and Charly Alcaraz on the pitch at the same time. At least Moyes showed he's willing to sub every player off last week.
Forwards
Jack Grealish (LW): It will be good to have Grealish back after last week, where City were able to key in on Iliman Ndiaye, and, despite his wizardry, keep him from doing damage. Having both players gives defenses more to think about.
Iliman Ndiaye (RW): He's been utterly fantastic this season and has earned a nomination for African Player of the Year from his confederation. Again, he remains misused on the right, but having him out there in the wrong position is better than not at all.
Beto (CF): He's not scoring, but he does a lot of dirty work in the hold-up that Thierno Barry isn't particularly good at just yet. His runs have been good, too, freeing up space for others.
