There’s no denying that Barry had a tough start to life at Everton; it seems like he’s now starting to catch fire.

Although Thierno Barry has only scored two goals so far for the Toffees, fans are gaining increasing optimism that their young striker is finally becoming the player they expected him to be.

Barry’s latest goal came against Nottingham Forest, the same team he scored against earlier this month. In this occasion, he received a great pass from James Garner, and Barry was able to control the ball with his right foot before switching to his left one. The striker then struck it past Forest’s goalkeeper, who tipped it but wasn’t able to change the direction of the ball enough to prevent the score.

Instantly after scoring, he pointed at the Everton supporters while wheeling away in celebration. You could tell that he needed to finish the year off strong, and his relief was visible on his face, similar to how he looked after scoring his first goal for the club back on the 6th of December.

Barry has gotten more and more comfortable with the pace of the Premier League, and while goals have undoubtedly been tough to come by, his form has steadily improved. He’s making more runs, drifting into half spaces, dodging defenders, and holding his shape in defense.

Throughout his career, Barry has always been a player who takes time to adjust to a new environment before becoming a goalscorign threat. It seems like the adjustment is finally happening, which is great news for Everton, who are in the midst of a depth crisis and needing goals to come from somewhere.
