This young English wonderkid is key to Everton’s success as Premier League restarts

Teenage sensation and English youth international Tyler Dibling is a Toffee now, and how he evolves as a player this season could be the difference between a mid table finish and a European spot for Everton.

On Saturday, Everton will return to league play after a short international break, and unlike previous seasons, there’s actually a sense of excitement and anticipation.

Part of that is due to Tyler Dibling’s incoming integration into the squad. The 19-year-old player has already made his debut for the Toffees in the EFL Cup shortly after completing a move from Southampton, and fans are awaiting his Premier League debut with the club.

The big question is how David Moyes will go about playing his new developing superstar. Currently, the front four consists of Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye, and Beto. Ndiaye specifically is playing on the right, which is the position that Dibling would most likely occupy on this team, and we saw him play in the EFL Cup.

If Dibling’s quality shines, we could see a scenario where KDH drops into central midfield, Ndiaye shifts to the CAM role, and Dibling slots into the right wing position. Everton’s frontline would suddenly have four quality players, with KDH feeding them through balls from midfield.

Dibling has the ability to cut into the right half space and create chances whenever he’s close to goal, but with no true overlapping right back option, he might not have the chance to roam free. Perhaps he’ll have to stick wider and force teams to stretch out their back lines.

Dibling is definitely capable of staying wide, but it wouldn’t be the best use of his talents. But alas, Everton weren’t able to bring a full-back who could complement his skills. But if he is able to succeed regardless of that circumstance, Everton’s attacking outlook suddenly looks extremely promising.
