Vladimir Coufal wants to join Everton due to David Moyes connection

Coufal, a Czech international with over 50 caps for his country, is reportedly looking for a move to the Toffees. The big question is if he'd be a good fit at the right back position for Moyes

Vladimir Coufal, who is a free agent after finishing his contract with West Ham, looks like he has Everton as his desired destination. Coufal played under Moyes, and with Everton desperately needing another fullback, it would make sense why both parties would be interested.

In the 2023/2024 season, Coufal has seven assists in 34 matches, but in 2024/2025, he didn't notch a single one, and his game time dropped drastically, only appearing in 22 matches.

Patterson is currently Everton's best (and only) option at right back, and although he can be used as an overlapping player, Coufal has more experience in the Premier League than Patterson and would be considered by many as an upgrade.

In my opinion, he would be a good addition to the squad, but I'd be a little disappointed if he becomes the only signing this summer at that position.

Everton are linked to other players who would also be great options at a cheap price. If the club believes he can recapture his previous form, however, then they could prioritize bringing in other signings at different positions and have academy product Roman Dixon as a depth piece for next year at fullback.

The other Premier League teams competing for his signature are Fulham, Leeds, and Wolves, which signals that he's a player who still has a lot to give at the top level.

One thing to keep in mind is that Everton have been linked to a plethora of fullbacks in recent days, so Coufal might end up being an afterthought.

However, Moyes looking to bring in a player that he as experience with doesn't surprise me, which is why I lean towards Coufal being the most likely player to come in at the right back position in the coming weeks.
