Everton Loan Report

Aiden McGeady – Sheffield Wednesday – McGeady was not featured in a 0-0 draw against Brighton due to a combination of fitness and injury, but started against Nottingham Forest at right midfield and scored the opening goal in the 30th minute. Wednesday went on to win 3-0 and McGeady was subbed off eventually in the 73rd minute. Conor McAleny – Wigan Athletic – McAleny did not feature on the bench during a 3-3 draw against Colchester United. He is not a regular starter for Wigan so absences from the first team are to be expected.

Jonjoe Kenny – Oxford United – Oxford United lost 0-1 to Leyton Orient and Kenny started at fullback and played a full 90 minutes. It was a tough game for the 2nd placed Oxford United against the 7th placed Leyton Orient in the League Two, but Oxford seem to be a lock for promotion.

Shani Tarashaj – Grasshopper Zurich – Tarashaj started at right-wing in a 0-2 loss to St. Gallen and was unable to produce any goals or real offense. In a 4-2 against win against FC Zurich he bagged a goal in the 53rd minute while playing a CAM, a more comfortable position for Tarashaj. Goal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yvLP2EO9Ys

Liam Walsh – Yeovil Town – Walsh started at CAM and played a full 90 minutes in a 1-0 win vs Notts County and was able to help his side to a fourth straight win, putting them in 20th.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

Ryan Ledson – Cambridge United

– Ledson played great in a 1-1 draw with Northampton Town where Cambridge scored a 91st minute equalizer. Ledson had two great chances denied and was a constant attacking threat for all 90 minutes at the CAM position.

David Henen – Fleetwood Town – Henen is still at Finch Farm receiving treatment for his injury.

Luke Garbutt – Fulham – Against Burnley in a 2-3 loss, Garbutt started at left wingback in a five-in-the-back formation. He created chances all throughout the game and had an assist on cross that was chested in by Dembele. He had a good shot denied as well and overall played a great game in the LWB position despite the loss. In a 1-2 loss to Bristol City, Garbutt again started at LWB, but was not able to have the same impact and was eventually subbed off in the 77th minute. Fulham is currently one point above the relegation zone.

Conor Grant – Doncaster Rovers – In a 0-2 loss to Scunthorpe United, Grant was subbed on in the 59th minute and was unable to produce a goal from the right-wing position. Grant started in a 1-2 loss to Bradford City, but was subbed off in the 30th minute due to an ongoing rib-injury that had kept him out of the starting lineup before.

Callum Connolly – Barnsley – Connolly got his first bit of playing time for his new club after he recently joined on a one-month deal till the end of march. He started at fullback in a 0-2 defeat and did decent for his first start.

Overall it has been a great weekend for the lads as two Everton loan players were able to grab goals in Tarashaj and McGeady. I look forward to better results in the next set of fixtures for these lower league sides and of course Grasshopper Zurich.
