Everton are reportedly interested in Badou N’Diaye, but what do we know about the Senegalese footballer?

Everton‘s surreal summer has seen them linked to players far and wide, home and abroad, as they look to strengthen their squad for this season’s assault on a top four spot. Sometimes fans are familiar with a target, at other times, not so much.

In that respect, It’s fair to put Badou N’Diaye in the latter category. As per Danny Owen of HITC.com, the Blues are apparently interested in the Senegalese footballer, who currently plays for Osmanlıspor in Turkey.

Owen writes that Everton’s interest in N’Diaye was first reported by Turkish publication Fanatik. But what do we actually know about him?

For a start, the Dakar-born player had an interesting childhood, growing up as the son of an army officer and science teacher. He started his footballing career in 2008 at Diambars FC, an academy which plays in the Senegalese National League 1.

In 2012, N’Diaye went to FK Bodø/Glimt on loan, where he scored three goals in 27 appearances. This prompted the Norwegian club to sign him on a permanent deal and he went on to play another 73 games, notching up 25 goals in the process.

In 2015, the 26-year-old was on the move again, this time joining his current club, Osmanlıspor. Now though, it appears he is ready to take on another challenge, thus leading to Everton’s apparent interest.

More from Transfer Rumors

It will reportedly cost around £10 million to sign N’Diaye, who scored six goals last season and has 17 overall in 59 games, during his time in Turkey. However, it sounds as if Everton will miss out on bringing him to Merseyside.

According to Goal, the midfielder reportedly wants to move to Galatasaray. In fact, the Turkish giants are apparently close to agreeing a deal for his services.

In some respects, you have to wonder why N’Diaye would chose Galatasary over a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle United and West Ham also interested in him. However, it could simply be a case of him being comfortable and happy in Turkey, which would be tough to argue with.

However, until the Senegal international officially signs, Everton theoretically still have a chance to change his mind. As such, if manager Ronald Koeman genuinely does what him, now is the time to make his move.
