With Everton reportedly interested in Bristol City’s Bobby Reid, he could potentially offer more than just providing strength in midfield.

Ronald Koeman has indicated he would ideally like to sign two more players, before the close of the summer transfer window. The question is, who do Everton have their sights set on, to further boost the squad?

According to a report from Dan Newman of the Bristol Post, one potential target is Bobby Reid. They are apparently one of at least three clubs interested in the midfielder, along with Leicester City and Middlesbrough.

What is particularly interesting about Reid, is the versatility he could offer to the Blues. So far this season, he has been used as a make-shift striker for Bristol City and risen to the challenge, with four league goals in as many games.

However, it is still in the middle of the park, where the 24-year-old would be mostly expected to contribute to the cause on Merseyside. Of course, there is the small matter of convincing the Robins to actually part company with the youngster.

More from Transfer Rumors

Reid has only really become a mainstay in the side during the past two seasons, but he has already become an invaluable commodity. As Newman notes, he is under contract until next summer, with the option of another year.

There is also the preference of the player himself, to take into account. Bristol are his hometown club and he has been with them since the age of nine.

Reid made his debut for the first team as a substitute versus Hull City, during the final game of the 2010/11 campaign. In total, he has made 112 appearances for Bristol, scoring 12 goals along the way, while also spending time on loan with Cheltenham Town, Oldham Athletic and Plymouth Argyle.
