Everton are still being linked with Emre Mor, but how likely is it for the winger to move to Merseyside?

Recently, we shared information pertaining to Everton having an interest in Emre Mor. However, as per the report from the Echo‘s Joe Rimmer, the Blues were set to miss out on the winger, with him apparently deciding to join Inter Milan.

Well, as of today, Mor still hasn’t gone anywhere. So, does this mean Everton still have a chance to sign him?

Before answering this question, we can advise the Blues have at least held talks with the 20-year-old. This news has been confirmed by his former agent, Bariz Soofizadeh.

Citing reports in the Turkish Press, Rimmer writes that Mor has been linked with a whole host of clubs, including Everton. Soofizadeh was quoted as saying:

"“We held talks with both Everton and Huddersfield. Two Bundesliga clubs were also interested. We came close to striking deals with Fiorentina and Inter.”"

This interest shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise. Despite only playing 12 leagues games last season for Borussia Dortmund (hence why he is available), he is highly regarded around Europe.

The Copenhagen-born player is renowned for his skill and pace. He also has experience at the international level, making it entirely understandable why Ronald Koeman would like to sign him.

This leads us nicely back to the question of if the Toffees have a chance to sign Mor? Interestingly, recent events could end up improving this possibility.

Soofizadeh indicated his former client’s preference was to join Barcelona or Real Madrid. However, neither club expressed any interest in the player.

Now, take into account that although Mor was close to agreeing terms with Fiorentine and Intern Milan, ultimately nothing came to fruition. Suddenly, you have a player who may be more open to other possibilities, especially as it would be preferable to being underutilised by Dortmund.

Ultimately, we believe Mor is unlikely to end up signing for Everton, even on loan. However, with just over a week remaining until the transfer window closes, we appreciate that anything is possible.
