Everton are apparently considering a move for North Korean forward Han Kwan-Song, but would face competition stiff from Arsenal.

Still mired in the aftermath of their inability to find another striker, Everton won’t really know the full ramifications of this failure until we’ve played at least another month’s worth of league fixtures. If nothing else though, at least the Blues are still looking at ways to rectify this issue, despite the summer transfer window now being closed.

As per Darren Plant of Sports Mole, Everton are apparently interested in Han Kwan-Song. For what it’s worth, the speculation was first reported in the newspaper which shall not be named around these parts.

Despite his young age, Kwan-Song is already drawing attention from around Europe. He is currently on loan with Serie B team Perugia and netted a hat-trick for them last month.

The 18-year old has been with Cagliari since 2015, when he joined their academy team and went on to become the first North Korean to play in Serie A. He made five substitute appearances in total for the first team last season and scored once against Torino, past a certain Joe Hart.

More from Transfer Rumors

Kwan-Song only recently signed a contract extension with Cagliari, which runs through to June 2022. He also made his first two appearances for the senior North Korean national team, earlier this year.

In case there is any doubt as to the teenager’s potential, consider the quality of the teams Everton will be in competition with, if they are to secure his signature. As noted by Plant, both Arsenal and Juventus are also interested in making a move for him.

In truth, even if the Blues do manage to sign Kwan-Song, he is extremely unlikely to pick up the scoring slack at this stage of his professional career. However, this doesn’t mean he wouldn’t represent a good signing, albeit with a view to contributing to any success further down the road.
