There’s not much transfer news involving Everton today following the departure of defender Ramerio Funes Mori, so we take a look at some players making an impression on the World Cup and who might be worth the Blues considering.

We’ve regularly analysed a number of players who Everton might want to consider when looking to strengthen the squad.

If the Blues do eventually make some additions to the team, then here are a few players to look at who have been making an impression on the World Cup.

Let’s start with a player that the Daily Star have claimed Everton are linked with, Youri Tielemans. He is a young midfielder who has forced his way into the Belgian squad after a fine season in France with Monaco.

Tielemans plays mainly in the centre or on the right of midfield or in an attacking position. Although he’s versatile enough to play in a more central defensive position.

His strength is actually his defensive play. And his passing accuracy is also good as he has a pass completion percentage of just over 80%.

However Tielemans attacking statistics are not so notable. He hasn’t scored many goals having only managed 1 last season along with just 1 assist.

These are not exactly brilliant statistics. But of course a players’ value isn’t just based on stats.

The Belgian is a player who seems to be similar to William Carvalho, with whom Everton have been strongly linked since Marco Silva took over as manager.

I don’t think Everton’s priority  is a another defensive player in the middle of the park. The Blues need to prioritise pace, creativity and goal scoring.

A player who might well offer just that is the Peruvian winger Andre Carrillo. Everton are being linked with making a move for him.

The wide attacking player has drawn praise from observers during this World Cup campaign despite Peru’s early exit.

Carrillo of course played under Blues boss Marco Silva at Watford. And there have been stories that Silva is keen to bring him to Goodison Park.

The Peruvian didn’t start that many games last season in the Premier League. He made 16 starts and managed one goal and 2 assists.

Perhaps Carrillo will be on Silva’s radar. And given that Barcelona are interested in Mexico’s Hirving Lozano, making it more difficult for Everton to secure him, Carrillo might be considered a decent alternative.
