Everton target Allan is likely to leave Napoli as the Serie A giants have lined up a replacement.

Everton is desperate to improve their midfield and as a result have targeted the likes of Allan, Adrien Rabiot, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and others. While monumental progress is being achieved in Hojbjerg’s pursuit over the last couple of days, the Toffees are still alert on more midfield transfers. Napoli midfielder Allan is another prime target and recent developments suggest that the Brazilian will exit the Serie A soon as Gli Azzuri line up a replacement for him.

The love story of Allan and Carlo Ancelotti has been doing rounds ever since the duo hit it off in Naples and when the Italian assumed charge of Everton, Allan was thought to be the No.1 player he would like to bring at Goodison Park. Allan too appears to be keen on a move with Everton in his preference list. The 29 year old is keeping his options open, even fancying a move to a team like Atletico Madrid or Serie A champions Juventus.

The Toffees did make an initial offer for the Brazilian but the bid was said to be below Gli Azzuri’s expectations. The Neapolitans are valuing Allan at €40 million but will be ready to part ways for €35 million. It is unlikely that any side will be willing to spend €35 million on a 29 year old, especially after the pandemic so eventually, Napoli will have to compromise.

One thing is for sure that the Brazilian is eyeing an exit from Stadio San Paolo and Everton can be a solid destination. The Italian club is mindful of the 29 year old’s wishes and are planning a replacement should Allan depart in the summer.

According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via Sport Witness), Napoli are lining up a transfer for Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow who happens to be a former Everton player. The Croatian has sparkled in the Russian Premier Liga scoring 12 times and assisting 5 goals in 29 games, attracting attention from mega clubs like Napoli.

The Italian club is keen to sign Vlasic if the former Udinese man leaves. Even though both players have different profiles, Napoli wants to add ‘technical genius’ instead of ‘muscle weight’ in the midfield and see Nikola Vlasic as a strong candidate.

Recent developments also suggest that Wolves have entered the race to sign Allan as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side prepares to improve squad depth and quality for next season where they are likely to feature in European competitions.

Whether Allan moves to Everton or not remains to be seen but the way Marcel Brands has amplified his efforts to land top targets, it is safe to say Allan will be mentioned again in the upcoming weeks in the Everton offices.
