Everton target Leon Bailey has been told he can leave Bayer Leverkusen if a suitable offer arrives.
Bayer Leverkusen has been a hunting ground for English Premier League sides with players like Kai Havertz, Leon Bailey and Kevin Volland all wanted in England. While Chelsea continues to work on a deal for Havertz, Everton have been repeatedly linked to Jamaican winger Leon Bailey.
Leon bailey caught the eye of Everton when the Toffees sent scouts to Germany to watch him during the DFb Pokal final. Since then, the club has upped their efforts to bring the 22 year old to Goodison Park. A host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur also remain on their toes to sign the pacey winger.
The Leverkusen man recently changed his agent to Aidy Ward who handles high profile players like Raheem Sterling and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The appointment of the English agent did send a hint that Leon Bailey may be heading to the Premier League.
The agent has revealed that Bayer Leverkusen has conveyed it to Bailey that he will be allowed to leave if a significant offer arrives in the German club’s office. Ward also revealed that finding a club won’t be a problem for Leon Bailey.

"The club has told its stepfather that he can go for a certain amount. As soon as I’ve spoken to the club and the situation is clear, we will know what to do. If the club wants to sell, that’s no problem. (via Sport1)"
Earlier, the Bundesliga club wasn’t too keen to let the 22 year old go. Losing Kai Havertz and Leon Bailey, the two gems of Bayer Leverkusen, would wreak havoc on the team balance and quality. However, now it seems that the club hierarchy has come up with a plan to cope without these talented players as both are heading towards the exit door.
The Jamaican featured as a substitute in Bayer 04’s 1-0 victory against Rangers last night. Overall, Bailey has featured in 32 games contributing 7 goals and 3 assists across all competitions despite an injury wrecked season.
The twist of Bayer Leverkusen being open to selling Leon Bailey will excite Everton. Marcel Brands will keep an eye on further developments before going on a bidding war with Spurs. His demonic pace and blistering trickery makes him an A-grade talent. With sufficient experience of Europe and Bundesliga, now will be the right time to snap up the Jamaican and bring him to the Premier League.
Leon Bailey himself admitted back in 2018 that his dream is to play in England and this summer transfer window may see him turn his dream into reality with the help of Aidy Ward.
