Everton and PSG are the main suitors for Manchester United outcast Diogo Dalot.

As for Everton, a number of right backs have been linked in the last couple of weeks. Diogo Dalot, Kenny Tete and Alessandro Florenzi are some of them. It looks like Diogo Dalot is not a rumour and the Toffees are actually interested in the Manchester United right back.

To be frank, Diogo Dalot has failed to live up to the expectations of the Manchester United faithful. He was simply phenomenal at Porto, his exploits at Porto landed him at Old Trafford but since his move, he has never been able to match those level of performances.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has claimed his complete authority at the right back position. Bissaka has been so strong that he hasn’t allowed Diogo Dalot to even sniff around. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is never going to select Dalot over Bissaka. To make matters worse, Timothy Fosu-Mensah is the preferred back up over Dalot.

A Manchester United exit looms over the Portuguese’s head and clubs like Everton and PSG are circling around. Newspaper O Jogo (via Sport Witness) report that Diogo Dalot will be on his way out of the club this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to make some squad room for new arrivals. The report mentioned the names of Everton and PSG along with a few Ligue 1 clubs.

Carlo Ancelotti is looking for a versatile player in the defence and Diogo Dalot suits the bill. He ticks every box of Ancelotti’s demands. The Italian wants a right back capable of playing in an advanced position as well as cover well as a third central defender in a 3 man defence.

The 21 year old brings more to the table than expected from him, showing the capabilities to even play as a left back when required.

The Toffees are actively keeping tabs on the Portuguese and a move can be expected from Brands once the Allan deal is wrapped up. Seamus Coleman isn’t getting any younger and there are uncertainties regarding the future of Jonjoe Kenny.

French giants PSG and the UEFA Champions League finalists of this year are also in line for Dalot. After the departure of Thomas Meunier on a free transfer, Les Pariseins are mulling over options. Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba are players that play at the right back spot but Dagba’s future may lie away from Parc des Princes.

There are other Ligue 1 sides also in the fray but Everton and PSG are the main suitors. A transfer battle can be unfolded in the upcoming weeks. He is a solid option for Everton who has room for improvement. The tutelage of Ancelotti can help him to regain the lost confidence and slingshot him back to the path of development.

What amount will the Toffees need to pay to sign Diogo Dalot?
