Everton player ratings vs. Salford City: Michael Keane soars, Gordon and Nkounkou shine
Anthony Gordon was the best player in the Everton attack.
Theo Walcott (Right wing) 5.5
Got down the wing well with his quickness, but failed to deliver any end product. He probably should have scored with a header and most of his crosses weren’t very good. If a decent offer comes in for Walcott, he’s probably gone.
Moise Kean (Centre forward) 6
He did round out the scoring from the penalty spot, but he should have been on the scoresheet before that. Hit the bar with a header, but the should have used his pace and power to bully the Salford City central defenders.
Anthony Gordon (Left wing) 8
The academy graduated impressed with his pace and acceleration as raced up and down the flank. The youngster duo of Anthony Gordon and Niels Nkounkou were a constant threat down the left flank. Deserved his debut goal, but a defender blocked his shot in the first half and he shook the woodwork in the second half. He won the penalty. All-in-all, a very good performance.
Lucas Digne (Sub on for Branthwaite 25 minutes) 7
A solid performance for the skilled Frenchman in an unfamiliar position. Added another layer of maturity and level-headedness to the back four and the team overall.
