Central defence needs most attention after recent injuries to Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite.

2. Solve other areas

Before Everton can make a move for Wilfried Zaha, they need to address other areas of importance. Everton has a massive stockpile at the flanks. Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Bernard are all secondary players and capable of playing at the wings. Secondly, Richarlison is simply immovable from the starting lineup.

So at the moment, wing is not a big area of concern for Carlo Ancelotti. The central defence is in a worrying condition and is the most vulnerable department of all. Toffees received a double blow in a matter of a week as they lost Mason Holgate for 2-3 months first and then Jarrad Branthwaite for at least a month.

This leaves Yerry Mina and Michael Keane as the only senior centre backs in the team. Lewis Gibson is can act as a back up but he is expected to be loaned out soon. In such a scenario, acquiring a centre back either on loan or permanently should be the highest priority for Marcel Brands and Ancelotti.

The Italian confirmed that Everton are evaluating defensive options in the market. If and only if, the problems at central defence are solved, the Royal Blues may consider bringing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
