Seamus Coleman showed solidity and exhibited his leadership qualities.

Defence:

Seamus Coleman: 8

Made a tasty cut back that was finished by Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the first goal. Seamus Coleman was superb after the initial few minutes. He continuously raided forward when an opportunity presented itself and also did the defensive job. Kept Wilfried Zaha at bay and showed resilience.  As Carlo Ancelotti rightly said in his post match comments, one of the best captains you’d ever come across.

Yerry Mina: 7

Mixed comments for Yerry Mina. While he did a good job in keeping Zaha relatively dormant, some of his decision-making can really be questionable. Yerry Mina did produce a moment of chuckle when he tried to defend the ball head first after falling to the ground. Showed a little more aggression than he usually would but overall an OK performance.

Must Read. French defender latest Everton rumour. light

Michael Keane: 6

A 6 simply because Michael Keane was expected to mark better during the Crystal Palace corner that lead to the goal. Otherwise, it wasn’t the best or worst performance from Keane. The player did just enough to keep Crystal Palace away from scoring the equalizer in the second half. A little drop was expected from him after playing 5th game in 14 days.

We can’t let our central defenders deplete at this rate. A new centre back needs to be signed or acquired on loan to ease the pressure on Keane and Mina.

Lucas Digne: 7

Lucas Digne was solid as always. The Frenchman has set such high standards for himself that performance in a game like this seems to be a par display. Lucas Digne did well in the defensive half and combined well with Richarlison and Andre Gomes on the left flank.
