Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock has been full of praise for Djed Spence who is a reported Everton target.

Everton have been linked to several right backs, raising questions over the long term future of Jonjoe Kenny. The role of Seamus Coleman’s successor still remains up for grabs with a lot of transfer links emerging. Middlesbrough breakout star Djed Spence has recently seen his name get associated with Everton.

The 20 year old right back has quickly gained admiration across England for his attack minded play as a right back. His exploits while going forward are a treat to watch making him one of the best emerging modern day full backs in the country. Spence is making tremendous progress, fine tuning his attacking as well as the defensive side of the game.

A lot has been spoken about his raids going forward but against Blackburn Rovers, the Boro fans witnessed the defensive adeptness of Spence’s game too. Neil Warnock’s side sit 6th in the Championship table, just 5 points adrift of the top spot.

Speaking after the game, the Middlesbrough manager was full of praise of the 20 year old starlet who has taken many by surprise this season by his top end performances.

"If you look at one or two of the full-backs that are around now – the lad at Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the lad at Manchester United from Palace (Aaron Wan-Bissaka) – they are all the same type as Djed. He does have enormous ability, and when you’ve got ability like that it’s criminal if you don’t get to the very top. (via Northen Echo)"

If Spence’s growth continues to catapult at this rate, there is no doubt that Premier League teams will come with a bag of cash for the Englishman. Everton, Crystal Palace and Wolves have already shown interest and are expected to make a move for Spence in the upcoming January transfer window.

He could be a real gem which Everton cannot miss out on. The Toffees must continue scouting him, observing him and strike when the iron is hot. Kenny’s future is still uncertain and despite all of Kenny’s efforts and hard work, it seems Spence has far greater potential than the 23 year old.
