AC Milan are also interested in signing Everton target Felipe Anderson.
This time last year, AC Milan were struggling to maintain their mid-table positions. A year later, with determination, grit, some smart signings and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC Milan find themselves on top of the Serie A table.
Their pursuit of Scudetto glory has so far turned out completely in favour of Milan. Even though they lead the table by a thin cushion of 3 points, the team is oozing positivity and playing attractive football. Manager Stefano Pioli has done a brilliant job so far in extracting the maximum out of the youngest squad in Serie A this season.

The January transfer window presents an opportunity to fill in those small gaps and weaknesses that may have emerged. One area that can be reinforced is squad strength at wings. AC Milan are eyeing West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson, as per Daily Mail. The Brazilian is on loan at FC Porto but the Hammers are looking to call him back citing lack of game time in Portugal.
The Brazilian was sent out on loan because David Moyes didn’t include him in the first team plans but his temporary stay in Porto is turning out to be similar as Anderson is nowhere close to featuring in Sergio Conceicao’s plans. West Ham would choose to recall their player instead of let him spend more time on the bench at Porto.
This has put certain clubs on alert who are looking to strengthen their squad and would take a risk with Anderson who is going through arguably his worst spell in his career. Everton also have been credited with an interest as they possibly hunt for a Bernard replacement with the former Shakhtar Donetsk man touted to leave Goodison with AS Roma being his next destination.
Should West Ham recall Anderson, it is unlikely that Moyes will trust Anderson and count on him for the remainder of the season. AC Milan want to leave no stone unturned in their title charge and want to have depth in certain positions.
Anderson is well aware of the style and system of Italian football from his Lazio days and a short loan back to Serie A could be on the cards. However, the £115,000 per week earning player could also have options in the Premier League as Everton continue to remain linked.
