New PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino hints at Everton striker Moise Kean’s future
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has hinted at possible discussions over Everton striker Moise Kean’s future.
Moise Kean is probably in the form of his life. Every ball he’s touching is finding the back of the net. Kean of Everton and Kean of PSG seem to be two polar opposites. The Italian struggled at Goodison, often finding himself as a frustrated figure, failing to score or involve himself in the attack. However, since his loan to PSG, he’s revived himself and is currently one of the best strikers in France.
Statistically, Kean has scored 9 goals in 13 Ligue 1 games and also scoring 2 goals in the UEFA Champions League to take his total PSG goal tally to 11 in 18 games. This is a stark contrast to his Everton goalscoring record, 4 goals in 37 games. It is more than evident that Kean is enjoying life in Paris and has found the raging fire in himself again.

PSG are impressed by Kean’s exploits would be an understatement. The Ligue 1 giants want to redeem the Italian permanently in the summer, however, they’ll have to initiate a new dialogue as the current loan deal does not include an option to buy.
While there were reports stating that PSG have already begun the negotiations to make the deal permanent, local reports from France quashed the speculations, stating that despite PSG’s utmost desire to sign Kean, they’ll wait until the summer transfer window.
Recently, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti was questioned over the Kean transfer to which he was positive and replied that if the player wants to stay in Paris, then the two clubs will hold talks in the summer.
"He is having a really good experience at Paris Saint-Germain. He is scoring a lot of goals, he shows his quality. He is our player and he will be back in June. All the time we have to take into consideration what the player thinks because the players are human. If the player wants to come back we will be happy to have him, if the player wants to stay with Paris Saint-Germain, we have to talk with Paris Saint-Germain. (via Sky Sports)"
Ancelotti was previously a staunch supporter of the idea to have Kean back at Everton next season but his recent statements meant that he has possibly given a green signal to the permanent transfer. Of course, the Toffees would like to get the maximum amount for Kean as he continues to carry forward his scintillating form.
New PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has also hinted on Kean’s future when he was questioned about Ancelotti’s comments. The former Spurs manager is an admirer of the 20 year old and would like to keep him at Parc des Princes beyond this season.
"There will be private discussions, again we will communicate when the time comes. (via Le10 Sport)"
Every concerned party in the entire deal seem to be on the same page. Everton were earlier resistant to transfer offers but have now changed the stance and hope that Kean’s sale can add a huge chunk to the transfer kitty.
PSG signed him as Mauro Icardi’s backup but the Argentine’s absence has been a blessing for Kean. Pochettino wants to keep him and so does PSG’s Sporting director Leonardo, so now it just remains to be seen whether PSG and Everton reach an agreement in the summer or not.
