Seamus Coleman looked barely present in the game.

Seamus Coleman – 5

The captain had one of the worst games of his season as he struggled throughout the game. His attacking runs were limited and barely made an impact. The usual combining with the right wide players was missing too. Coleman was better in defence than he was in attack that afternoon.

Michael Keane – 5

Keane was composed in the first half, distributing the ball well and keeping a check on Newcastle’s attackers. However, it spiralled downwards in the second half when the Toons grew into the game and threatened on multiple occasions. The English centre back tried to launch several attacks via long balls but often failed to create anything productive.

Yerry Mina – 6

Yerry Mina looked dangerous on the other end in the first half but was finding it difficult to tame Wilson. In short, that was the story of the entire Everton defence, the rearguard struggling to keep Wilson silent. The Colombian did have a brilliant passing accuracy of 95%, making 39 accurate passes. Generally, a dominative figure in the air, the former Barcelona defender was unable to win a single aerial duel in the game.

Lucas Digne – 5

Lucas Digne found space on the left flank due to the concise Newcastle midfield but his deliveries in the box let him down. Very identical to Coleman, Digne was having one of the worst matches as an Everton player this season. Defensively, he was decent and made five tackles but when having Digne in the side, one would expect him to offer an accurate crossing outlet.
