Right back: Mason Holgate

Seamus Coleman missed the last game because he had some problem during the training and there hasn’t been any update whether he’s fit for the West Brom game or not. Mason Holgate did play an intense 90 minutes of the Southampton game but if Coleman isn’t completely fit, starting Holgate at right back is the only alternative.

Centre back: Michael Keane

Michael Keane was rock solid against Southampton making all the important tackles, blocks, interceptions throughout the game. The Englishman has turned into the most important part of this rearguard and in true sense, a leader of the backline. West Brom striker Mbaye Diagne stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and poses a considerable aerial threat. The responsibility of negating Diagne’s danger in the air lies on the shoulders of Keane.

Centre back: Ben Godfrey

The aggressive and athletic Ben Godfrey will once again play in his natural position after forays as full backs on both sides earlier in the season. With West Brom sitting deep, Godfrey and Keane will also be tasked with bringing the ball forward or at least launching long balls that find the heads of Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Joshua King or Richarlison. Godfrey’s passing skills will also come into play on Thursday.

Left back: Lucas Digne

Lucas Digne will have a lot of freedom in an attacking sense against the Baggies due to the way they lineup themselves and from their style of play. The Frenchman produced a disciplined display against Southampton but will look to be more involved in the attack.
