Central midfield: Abdoulaye Doucoure

Abdoulaye Doucoure is a tireless machine who simply doesn’t have an off switch. The words rest or minimal running doesn’t exist for the former Watford man. Yes, Everton play their second game in the span of three days but that won’t stop Doucoure running up and down the pitch, touching every blade of grass on the field.

He’ll be as combative, as dedicated and as energetic as he would be on the first game of the season. He will be an important asset in the final third to overload that side of the pitch or simply to match the West Brom numbers as they would have a horde of defenders to stop Everton.

Central midfield: Tom Davies

Allan played the full 90 minutes of the Southampton tie which was also his first game since his injury in December. Ancelotti might not push him to play another game in 72 hours as he has just recovered. Even though Allan looks hungry, it would be in the best interests of everyone to allow him more time to recharge.

Must Read. Everton target rejects ultimate renewal offer as Napoli initiate contact. light

Tom Davies will presumably be fit and deputize in the role once again. The 22 year old evolved tremendously in these two months playing in a No.6 role. He is much more confident, mature and operates in a precise manner. He can be trusted again to the job against relegation battling West Brom.

Attacking midfielder: James Rodriguez

West Brom sit deep and defend tightly and breaching such a system can be tricky at times but Everton do have the right craftsmen to carry out this job. James Rodriguez can be lethal against sides who sit deep and with his playmaking qualities, he can thread defence splitting balls with ease, creating chances out of nowhere. Ancelotti gave him a complete rest against the Saints and he should be okay to start the game against the Baggies.
