Everton target Lucas Vazquez is attracting a lot of attention as he nears the end of his cycle at Real Madrid. The Spaniard has been with the Real Madrid setup since 2007 but his relationship with Los Blancos appears to be coming to an end.

Just like any other club, Real Madrid is tackling the consequences of the pandemic. Even the biggest of clubs have plunged into a financial crisis and are trying to survive the pandemic. The La Liga giants have put pay cuts in place which the players have agreed to ease the pressure on club’s expenses.

Vazquez was offered a three year extension with a 10% pay cut which was unacceptable to him as he was expecting a pay raise for his services to the club over the past few years. The disagreement is likely to result in separation as Vazquez intends to leave Madrid as a free agent in the summer.

The 29 year old is a wanted commodity as Everton, Leeds United, Napoli and Milan remain associated with him. Everton have now been linked with the Spaniard several times as Carlo Ancelotti tries to solve the right sided problems that have persisted this season.

Bayern Munich also want Everton target Lucas Vazquez

Previously, a report stated that the Toffees have made an approach that puts them ahead in the race compared to their counterparts. However, there is a new entrant in the race and arguably the strongest candidate to land Vazquez. According to AS, Bayern Munich is in contact with Vazquez and have already established strong communication channels with the Spaniard.

The report further states that the Bavarians are in advanced negotiations, though an agreement is not yet reached. The upcoming days could be decisive for Vazquez’s future. The German heavyweights currently have Benjamin Pavard and Bouna Sarr as right backs and if the 29 year old arrives, Sarr will become persona non grata. Vazquez will also add depth to the attack as Douglas Costa will return to Juventus.

If Everton are seriously interested in Vazquez, the news of negotiations with Bayern will come as a huge blow. The Bavarians can guarantee Champions League football for next season which the Toffees cant at the moment.

Ancelotti may have to use his special luring powers if Everton want to beat Bayern Munich to Vazquez’s signing. There was another report that stated Vazquez is looking for a Premier League move and if it is true, the Toffees may have a marginal edge even though the Champions League football is a big doubt.
