It’s another winger, but the right wing is an area Everton are desperate to improve, and Calvin Stengs could be a cheaper option for the Toffees than somebody like the previously mentioned Berardi or somebody like Leon Bailey.

The 22-year old has been performing well in the Eredivisie for around three years now, but due to the scepticism that surrounds signing players from the Eredivisie. Stengs is still at his boyhood club AZ Alkmaar and is currently havingn a fantastic campaign with six goals and four assists in 24 appearances, with the Dutchman being a key contributor to AZ’s current league position, which is third while level on points with second place PSV.

Stengs is a player with a lot of potential, it’s clear he’s still developing, but even as a rotational piece for Everton he could be a great signing. Besides his solid technical ability for someone of his age, he also has physical tools that could be developed at a club like Everton. Stengs stands at a huge, for a winger, 6ft1 and even though his aerial ability needs improvement, it is something that could be improved by working with Duncan Ferguson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

His all around game for a winger is very solid, he completes two dribbles per game, along with two key passes and two shots, with one shot in the penalty area per 90. It’s a promising sign for the future that he has a solid base for an all around winger at only 22-years old, and with a transfer valuation of only £13.5m on TransferMarkt it could be a bargain that Everton would be smart to take a gamble with.
