Jean-Philippe Gbamin is set to return to action after spending over 18 months which would be an eternity for the player, on the sidelines. Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed that the Ivorian is ready and will be included in the matchday squad against Crystal Palace.

Obviously, Gbamin won’t be entirely match fit and will lack sharpness so Ancelotti won’t throw him directly in the Premier League circus. His return will be paced at ease and he’ll be swiftly drafted into the team. The return of the 25-year-old couldn’t have come at a better time as the Toffees cope with the loss of ever-energetic Abdoulaye Doucoure who could likely miss the rest of the season.

Allan, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes are the available midfield options whereas Fabian Delph continues to struggle with fitness problems. Everton are pushing for European football and possibly Champions League football as we enter the final phase of the Premier League. The availability of an athletic and tactically adept midfielder like Gbamin could surely help Everton in their charge for Europe. The Ivorian is versatile and can play in several positions.
