Allan could return to the Everton lineup

Midfield:

Left wing back: Lucas Digne

Lucas Digne has always enjoyed the slightly forward role, giving him extra freedom to wander forward and dart crosses in the box, aiming at Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. However, his defensive contributions in the recent game cannot be neglected as well. Digne has had a steady string of performances and given the freedom to run down the flanks, the Frenchman will be hoping to make the most of the opportunity.

Central Midfielder: Allan

Allan missed the last game but has trained normally this week. The Brazilian will be assessed before the game but he trained without any problems hence could be ready to return to action. Andre Gomes is surely out and Allan could come in place of him in the lineup. With the likes of Digne raiding forward, Allan’s presence in the middle becomes key to Everton’s shape, guarding the back three.

Central midfielder: Tom Davies

Even though Jean-Philippe Gbamin is fit, Ancelotti won’t risk the Ivorian to start the game because he has just returned from a lengthy layoff. Davies will have to provide energy in the middle, something that the Toffees have clearly been missing since Doucoure’s injury.

(NOTE: This article was published before the injury report on Gbamin surfaced. The Ivorian remains unavailable)

Right wing back: Seamus Coleman

Seamus Coleman had a very strong game to show off against Roy Hodgson’s side. The Irishman looks comfortable in the wing back role and finds the right balance in attacking and containing the opposition on the right flank.
