Another central defender comes into Everton reckoning
After conceding four goals yesterday at Manchester United, Everton are once more being linked with a summer move for another centre-back.
That player is Mario Hermoso of Atletico Madrid who is the latest in a long line of central defenders that Everton are supposedly considering.
This report claims that the Toffees are one of several Premier League clubs looking at the Spanish international who’s just won La Liga, along with Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The Blues have been repeatedly linked with siging a new central defender this summer with a revived rumour about Khalidou Koulibaly, stories that Kurt Zouma might return to Goodison Park and new players in the frame such as Clement Lenglet.
It seems as though Everton are keen to bring in another centre-back and this was true of both Carlo Ancelotti and then Rafa Benitez when he took over from the Italian.
The team looks well stocked for centre-backs with Yerry Mina, Micheal Keane, Ben Godfrey, Mason Holgate etc.
However, it does seem as though Benitez is looking to offload one of those players the most likely to go being Mina.

So there have been constant rumours of a new signing in this position and Hermoso is the next one. He’s a fine left-footed centre-back who can also fill in at left-back.
Although that doesn’t seem to be a position the Toffees need another player really, the urgent need is for a full-back on the other side!
The Atletico player is very solid in terms of the basics of defending and is also a good passer of the ball according to Whoscored.com.
In many ways he looks a lot like Lenglet the Barcelona player who has been talked of regularly as a target of the Blues.
Both are left-footed central defenders who are particularly comfortable on the ball and would in theory allow Everton to play more controlled game.
The reported price that the Spanish champions would want for Hermoso is around £35 million and unless the Toffees can offload several more players and get something reasonable for them, it would seem out of their reach.
What do you think should Everton be moving for another centre-back when they have so many other transfer priorities?
