Everton and Inter Milan have duelled over the summer for Denzel Dumfries. That battle seems to be edging in Inter’s favour as Dumfries’ agent Mino Raiola is pushing for a move to a Champions League playing side. Now, it appears, that there’s another common interest in the transfer market. Joaquin Correa is admired by both, Inter Milan and Everton.

It has been widely reported across England and Italy that Lazio forward Correa is looking for a new adventure away from Rome. Maurizio Sarri arrived at Lazio this summer as Simone Inzaghi left Le Aquile and became the new Inter Milan coach. Correa has already expressed his wishes to leave and the former Chelsea boss will not obstruct a sale.

There have been several suitors for the Argentine in the transfer market. Correa is appreciated by Inter Milan, especially because of Inzaghi, who has spent three years with him at Lazio. Correa has metamorphosed under Inzaghi and the Italian manager would like to have him at Giuseppe Meazza.

On the other hand, the name of Correa has been circulating in the Everton circles for months now. Despite the managerial change, the Toffees continue to be mentioned as a potential destination for the 26 year old.

According to Calciomercato, Correa’s situation may soon be resolved soon. His agent, Alessandro Lucci, has intensified relations with Inter Milan in Italy, Everton and Leicester City in the Premier League. The report mentions that contacts and talks have accelerated in the last few hours.

Correa’s future could be sorted by 15th August which is one of the reasons why his agent is proactive in talking to all interested parties. As for Lazio, their stance has always remained the same. The Biancocelesti will sanction a sale only if the transfer fee is at least €30 million.

Another report from Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) mentioned Arsenal being keen on Correa and even launching a €20 million bid which was rejected by Lazio. Competition seems intense for the 26 year old attacker.

The Argentine is a hybrid attacker capable of playing as a second striker as well as an inside forward. For much of his Lazio career, he’s played alongside Ciro Immobile, often acting as a secondary striker and at times even dropping in the midfield to be a part of the buildup. Everton have been linked with several strikers as Rafa Benitez seems inclined to finding another backup to Dominic Calvert-Lewin. It seems now, it’s a matter of days before Correa’s future is resolved.
