Everton Football Club is a very segmented organisation at the present time. The Board support the manager, Rafa Benitez, who supports most of the players and the fans support the players but not the board or the manager.

However, we have to try to be together to get the results we desire, and herein lies the conundrum for all. No business or team can thrive if everyone is not pulling in the same direction. As the board have dispensed with a Director of Football, and any support they had, it means they have given full control to Benitez for the foreseeable future.

As we have heard, and this was also very visible in the away end at Hull City on Saturday, the Everton fanbase does not support Benitez in the majority. With seemingly no chance of the board removing Benitez from his duties in the near future we need to look at what the manager can improve to try to get fans behind the team, it’s not that they aren’t while we play, but there seems to be constant dark clouds over Goodison Park at the moment.

Benitez hasn’t helped himself with some bizarre management over the last couple of months, and this article will look at 5 things that he can improve to at least get Everton fans more positive about results and young players getting more opportunities.
