Everton are one of the many interested sides in Christian Eriksen who is set to be a free agent after his contract expiry. The Denmark international has already received offers from clubs and he is analyzing every offer on the table.

Despite having talented forwards Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the ranks, the Toffees only managed to score 43 goals, which was the fourth joint lowest goal tally in the league last season. Part of this comes down due to the lack of creativity in the midfield. Everton lost James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne in successive transfer windows and they haven’t been replaced.

Rodriguez netted six goals and provided nine assists in 26 games he played for the Toffees in 2020-21 season. The Colombian created 11 big chances in 23 Premier League games, showcasing adept passing and immaculate vision. Digne, on the other hand was responsible for darting crosses in and creating goal scoring opportunities from the left flank. The Frenchman also created 11 big chances in the Premier League and provided seven assists.

The Toffees have been lacking an archetypal creative presence in the midfield and signing a player like Eriksen will solve the crisis. However, the Toffees have not presented any offers to the 30 year old.

Everton target Christian Eriksen to choose between Manchester United and Brentford

With his contract at Brentford expiring in June, a host of clubs have already established contact with Eriksen. Brentford have presented a new offer to Eriksen, offering him a longer deal. Manchester United have also made an offer to the former Tottenham Hotspur man.

According to Metro, the 30 year old is choosing between Manchester United and Brentford. Both the sides have presented exciting offers to the Dane but United’s offer is much more appealing financially. Eriksen will make a decision whether to join Manchester United or stay at Brentford.

It is believed that Eriksen and his family are well settled in London and have doubts over relocation to the northwest part of the country. At this point, it is almost certain that the Toffees are not in the race. The Merseyside region is in the northwest and Eriksen is skeptical about relocating.

The Toffees would’ve got their hands on an excellent ball-playing creator capable of operating from the deep as well. However, Eriksen is likely to choose either Manchester United or Brentford, eliminating other options like Tottenham and Everton who had shown interest in him.
