Sandro Ramirez scored just one goal for Everton

3. Sandro Ramirez

Sandro Ramirez was Steve Walsh’s find from an overseas market. Walsh had the well known for scouring overseas markets and picking out gems for trivial amounts. At Leicester, he had signed the likes of N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez who turned out to be quintessential parts of Leicester’s Premier League success.

Ramirez had netted 16 goals in La Liga in the 2016-17 season which convinced Everton that he was the man to lead the frontline post Romelu Lukaku’s departure. The Spaniard came with a humble price tag of £5.2 million but miserably failed at Goodison Park.

Ramirez failed to net a single goal in eight Premier League games and was looking below par in games. His only goal for Everton came in the Europa League as he failed to settle in England. It was one of the worst deals sanctioned by Moshiri and he eventually had to be shipped off on loan. Even during the loan spells at Sevilla and Real Sociedad, Ramirez failed to find the back of the net even once.

After loan spells at Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid, Ramirez left on a free transfer as Everton were desperate to cut down their wage budget. Ramirez’s departure allowed Everton to free up £65,000 per week in wages.
