With the start of the 2022-23 Premier League season less than a month away, teams have started their pre-season and have already departed on pre-season tours. Everton traveled to the United States of America last year to take part in the Florida Cup, facing Millonarios and Pumas UNAM.

Everton returns to the USA, in fact, the team has already made its way to North America. Frank Lampard’s side has landed on US soil yesterday for a couple of pre-season friendlies. The Toffees will play friendlies against Arsenal and Minnesota United.

This pre-season will give Lampard enough time to assess youngsters like Lewis Warrington and Ellis Simms. Lewis Dobbin and Nathan Broadhead before making a decision on their future. The likes of Niels Nkounkou will also hope to impress the gaffer after spending last season on loan. The pre-season games do not hold much value on a competitive level but it gives the coach and his staff a perfect opportunity to assess the squad ahead of the start of the season.

This is Everton’s first pre-season under Lampard who took over the Merseysiders in January after Rafa Benitez’s sacking. Everton play their last friendly in the USA on 20th July. Upon return to England, they will play two more friendlies against Blackpool and Dynamo Kyiv.
